An Airedale Terrier named after the Aire Valley in England is a large dog breed that has a harsh and wiry coat and a long flat head; usually the tail is docked on this breed.  Its coat is tan with black markings.  Airedales are okay with children as long as they are exposed to them at an early enough age and socialize with them appropriately, because they can play rough.  Airedales are fun, loving and playful puppies and so easy to fall in love.  This breed is extremely active and loves the outdoors so they need larges space to run and play, requiring a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise each day.  Today Airedales are great companion dog and were bred for work, as they love playing ball, swimming or retrieving objects for their owner.  Originating 100 years in the country of York later it was crossed with an Otterhound to be a better swimmer.  This dog has been popular throughout history and it was an army and police dog in World War II because it is a working terrier and is known as the king of terriers.  Airedales hunt big game but have also been used to hunt big game in countries like Africa, Indian and Canada.  Airedale Terrier owners are just as loyal to their dogs as their dogs are to them.
